I was tickled pink to raise 3 little girls to love the Lord, themselves and others. Beginning in 1992 my husband and I were given the biggest gift ever, daughters! For me, motherhood was fun, creative, sweet, hard, tiring, messy, serious, heartbreaking, emotional and expensive. But I loved every minute of it!
I became a Christian in 1999 and that’s when the girls and I learned about Jesus, together. What I learned, they learned. A Bible was usually out on my kitchen table and a scripture on the chalkboard. But, there were times when I needed to step away and be alone without my family so I could really hear from the Lord and be among my community of friends. That’s how I came up with “Mommy School”. I’d tell my girls whenever I went away to retreat for a day or a weekend that I was going to Mommy School to learn how to be a better mommy. My tenderhearted girls would often rebuttal by saying, “We don’t want you to go, we like you how you are!" Adorable. Mommy School will be a post for you, Mommy, to be encouraged in your season of motherhood. I’ll share with you the things that I learned by trial and error to empower and encourage you as a mom. I hope you feel blessed and will have a fresh perspective on motherhood. The days of mothering are long, but the years go by fast. You’ll see. |
Hello, Mrs.!
What's been on my heart lately is to provide a space for one hour of confidential prayer for marriages. Ephesians 3:20 says, "God who is able to do more than we can image or home for." God is for you and not against you. He is for your marriage. Prayer for your marriage, and your husband will change things, receive answers, give guidance and even heal. Mrs., prayer is the control you have for your marriage. Prayer allows us you to pray for anything that is on your heart about your marriage; finances, residence, love, respect, children, addiction, temperament, sex, boundaries, mothers-in-law (big one!), your job and motherhood. I'm married 35 years now, and I know how difficult it can be. Prayer is your superpower, Don't be afraid. I can assure you, the 'Villian' will do everything in his power to discourage you because he wants to destroy your marriage. 1 Peter 5:8-9. You don't have to pray out loud. Just attend and listen. God knows your heart. NO PRESSURE! If you're not praying for your marriage, who is? April xx |
